More London pics

Here are some pictures from one of my favourite museums -
the British Museum in London:


When I first visited the British Museum in 1998 (on a school trip to London) the Great Court and the Reading Room were closed for visitors. Now, it's all new and very impressive - done by architect Norman Foster.

A huge guardian figure from the ancient Assyrian palace of Nimrud.

When I was a kid I used to read adventure novels by German author Karl May, and some of them featured an eccentric English Lord travelling the Middle East in search of "Fowling Bulls". There was a drawing of such a thing in one of the books as well, and I was stunned when I found a real life version of the picture in the British Museum, back in 1998.
