David Tennant

Well, Love's Labour's Lost was great. I only paid £5 for my seat, which in fact wasn't a seat but a standing ticket. So I was just a little bit anxious. Standing at the back of a theatre for three hours? There was no need to worry though! The Courtyard Theatre is really cleverly constructed, and even though I was right up at the Gallery, and at the very back, I was still really close to the stage. And I've always had a thing about watching the audience and their reactions during a performance, and of course from my perspective I had the best view of the audience!

The play then. I didn't understand all of it, if I'm honest (and I should have prepared better!) but still laughed a lot! Fantastic actors, great stage design (a giant tree with stylised leaves occupying half of otherwise empty the stage).

After the play, I watched a lot of girls rush past me, towards the stage door at the back of the theatre. I pretended I was a serious theatregoer and only walked slowly around the theatre... Big mistake, as I ended up having to stand at the very back of a massive crowd! Still spotted a bit of David Tennant (see picture above). To be honest, I wasn't too bothered as I'd just spent three hours watching him on stage!

Only one question remains... Who was the David Tennant lookalike, dressed in a suit and chucks (just like the Doctor), standing in the foyer during the break? Had I not know that the real David Tennant was backstage, in costume, I would have asked this guy for an autograph, so similar did they look!
